Not only can you practice your sport of choice, but there are also numerous training facilities where you will learn the tricks of the trade from well-established professionals. On the other hand, if you prefer to just sit back and watch a sporting game, we are home to several high-profile tennis and golf tournaments.
Golf Boasting over 160 gold courses with varying amenities, Palm Beach County is proud to say that we’re Florida’s Golf Capital®. From our Municipal Course at the Delray Beach Golf Club to our private clubs at communities such as the Hamlet Country Club and the Gleneagles Country Club there is a wide variety of top notch golf courses within Delray’s boundaries alone. Just outside Delray’s boundaries, the prestigious Pine Tree Golf Club, designed by prominent course architect Dick Wilson and often placed among Florida’s top 5 courses; and world renowned PGA National Resort and Spa are fine examples of the sport’s status in South East Florida.

Tennis Delray Beach Tennis Center The Delray Beach Tennis Center, located in the heart of downtown Delray Beach, features 14 clay courts, seven hard courts and an 8,200 seat stadium. The Center features 19 lit courts, an upstairs pavilion and conference room and a pro shop. The club offers an array of adult and junior programs, leagues, clinics and camps. Delray International Tennis Championships The annual Delray Beach International Tennis Championships is a $500,000.00 Men’s ATP Tour Event featuring many of the world’s top-ranked professional tennis players. Past participants include Agassi, Roddick, Blake and the Bryan Brothers. The award-winning event hosts 20-plus hospitality events, is seen in 150 countries and hosts 50,000-plus spectators.
Water Sports Scuba Diving and Snorkeling Due to our warm year-round temperatures, the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, offering such underwater treasures as shipwrecks, reefs and colorful marine life, attract visitors and residents during every season. No matter what level of diving experience you have, there is a snorkeling or scuba diving opportunity for you in Delray Beach. You will find several local dive and snorkeling centers offering dive boats, kayak rentals, guided snorkeling tours and more. Boating From Delray Beach’s waterfront, you can take a relaxing cruise down the intercoastal, head out for a day of fishing in the ocean, or sail your way along the coast. You can head north to Palm Beach and Peanut Island or head south to Boca Raton and see Lake Boca. The Delray Boat Club provides a convenient and affordable alternative to boat ownership with their luxury rentals boat fleet, and Delray Beach Water Sports Rental offers Hobbie Cats and kayaks. Surfing Weather you are into surfing, paddle surfing, wind surfing, kite boarding or boogie boarding, you couldn't ask for a better location to do it in than Delray Beach’s wide sandy beaches and warm waters. Sports Fishing The legendary Gulf Stream current is abundant with a wide variety of delicious fish including Sailfish, Marlin (pictured), Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Dolphin (known elsewhere as Mahi-Mahi), King Mackeral (high in Omega 3!), Red Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Sheepshead, Pompano and Bluefish. You can charter a boat, or hop aboard a driftboat (a lot cheaper-most depart three times a day) and within thirty minutes you'll be dropping your line into the Stream!
Delray Beach Athletic Club The Delray Beach Soccer Club and Delray Beach Riptide Lacrosse are non-profit volunteer-driven entities that provide sports opportunities to Children, Adults and Families.
Baseball Bucky Dent School of Baseball – Bucky Dent’s School has been known as the world’s premier instructional academy for over 30 years. Players and coaches from all over the world have attended the school because it features a professional staff and a comprehensive program that covers all aspects of the game, including personalized attention. Miller Park and Little Fenway Miller Park encompasses 23 uninterrupted acres of baseball facilities, and it includes three little league fields, Miracle League Field, batting cages, pitching mound and pitching wall, two major league fields, multipurpose field, concession stand/press box, restrooms, pavilion and a playground area. It is the home of "Little Fenway" a replica of Fenway Park and it's "Green Monster" in Boston, Massachusetts.

Parks & Wetlands Municipal Beaches While visitors relish the opportunity to sunbathe and swim at Delray Beach’s beautiful beaches when they are in the area, our residents know how fortunate they are to enjoy the white sand and clear blue waters year-round. There are two miles of public beachfront, and together the Atlantic Avenue Dunes Park and Delray Municipal Beach attract approximately 1 million visitors a year. Designated a Blue-Wave-Beach from the Clean Beaches Council for the clean and well managed beach, the City of Delray Beach contracts with a beach cleaning service and a cabana rental company. Overseeing public safety at the Municipal Beach and Atlantic Dunes Park, the Ocean Rescue team has received numerous awards for their professional achievement from the USLA, Florida Beach Patrol Chiefs Association, and Emergency Medicine Foundation. Municipal Parks The City of Delray Beach Parks & Recreation Department maintains five athletic fields, five beach and ocean front parks, 10 community parks and two intracoastal parks, and it is committed to offering a variety of recreational activities and facilities. Palm Beach County Parks The Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department and the Palm Beach County Water Utility Department manage a wide variety of parks and wetlands in and around Delray Beach, including the Wakodahatchee wetlands, Green Cay nature center & wetlands, and the Aqua Crest Pool to name a few.
