City ServicesDelray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) The Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, established by the City Commission in 1985, is the City's primary force behind downtown redevelopment efforts. Its sole purpose is to revitalize the physical environment and the economy of the Community Redevelopment Area. Through grants, planning, redevelopment, historic preservation, economic development and affordable housing, the CRA is committed to solve the underlying problems of slum and blighted conditions so that the tax base can be protected and enhanced.
The Delray Beach Police Department is a State Accredited Law Enforcement agency comprised of 276 dedicated men and women, including both sworn and civilian employees, complemented by approximately 400 dedicated and loyal volunteers. Collectively, the Delray Beach Police Department is recognized as one of the premier law enforcement agencies in the nation having obtained both national and international recognition for its award-winning programs and initiatives. The Delray Beach Fire-Rescue Department (DBFD) provides comprehensive fire, emergency medical and special operations response services to the City of Delray Beach and, through inter-local service agreements the neighboring Towns of Gulf Stream and Highland Beach. It also provides emergency medical transport service public education, inspection and plan review services to the three communities. Delray Beach Fire-Rescue maintains a strong focus on preventative health, life safety and injury prevention education in the community. Through The Fire Station Community Education Program, the DBFD works in the areas of health and wellness, and effectively reduces the number of acute medical/injury emergencies in our community.
